New Site Gun Wharf Quays

Hi all,

An exciting new site is due to go live 1st April 2008 with our wireless internet service. Gun Wharf Quays is an event marina available to Super Yachts, Tall Ships, corporate events and visiting boats, Gunwharf Berths has 24-hour access and plenty of depth. The berths can take vessels up to 78m in length, and are currently amongst the most sought after berths on the south coast.

Dont forget that you can use your exisiting Oceanwave subscription at all new sites.

New Network Coverage at upgraded marinas

Hi all,

We have been noticing some interference from new boat security systems that run on the same frequency as our wifi. Therefore we are starting to utilise the 5ghz part of our network for client access. So if you have a recent laptop with a 802.11 a /b /g card installed then search for wireless networks and connect to SSID Oceanwave 802.11a.

New Single User Policy going live 1st May 2008

From 1st May 2008 Oceanwave will be implementing a single user policy at all sites.

This means that one username/ account will only be permitted to log on at one time. So if a susbsciber owns 2 computers then you they would need 2 subscriptions to run both machines at the same time.

This has been implemented to adhere to new legislation in user tracking and security.

FAO Users at Brighton:

We are meeting with BT (14th March) to implement an additional phone line into the West Jetty. This will double line capacity and also enable us to activate a new access point on pontoon 29 with 100m extra 360 degree coverage.

Site Upgrades

To all Oceanwave subscribers,

Before the start of the new season we will be undertaking work to improve the speed and reliability of some sites.
Details below:

Premier Marinas Chichester: 2 new antennas on H and D pontoons (eta 17/2/2008)
Premier Marinas Brighton: Additional ADSL line (5mb) and firmware upgrade . (28/2/2008)
Premier Marinas Southsea: Upgrade of 2 Access Points to total 5 (increasing coverage to Pontoon F and G) 28/2/2008)

Yacht Havens Group Lymington: Firmware upgrade and 2 addtional Access Points (3/3/2008)
Yacht Havens Group Troon: 2 additional access points on pontoons D and M (3/3/2008)

We will also be installing our new sites at Gloucester Docks (British Waterways) and at Gunwharf Quays (Portsmouth) during the end of Feb and early March 2008.
